# Adding a step to your workflow

To add a step to your workflow, make sure you have opened the service whose workflow you want to edit and then:

* On the side menu, select and drag a task type

* Drag the item to the canvas area.
* For a User task type, a dialog appears for you to choose the specific type of action you would want a user to take at this step. Choose a task type and enter a title for the step.
