# The Basics of a Service

A service in Onestop is a representation of your automated process and all its inputs and outputs. This includes a workflow, input forms, data records, notifications, billing information and output documents.

## Creating a new Service

You can create a service in onestop in 3 ways:

* **Add a new service from Scratch**: You configure a new service from the ground up.
* I**nstall from a system Pre-built Template**: Onestop SaaS comes with a package of prebuilt templates you can select and install from.
* **Import from a File**: You can import a service template exported from another database or organization.

### Adding a new Service Scratch

To create a new service:

* Click on the "Services" button in the main menu, and then click on the “Create New” button.

* This will open a popup form for you to provide information about the service.

* Provide a name and description for the service
* Choose the portal where you want the service to be deployed
* Click on the Save button.

* You will be redirected to the service builder where you can manage everything about the service. This includes creating and managing:
  * The workflow
  * Submission, Registration and Task forms
  * Billing rules
  * Document templates
  * Team access to workflow tasks
